Maintenance Tips

1. Keep Your Nails Clean & Dry

  • Before application: Clean your nails thoroughly using a nail cleanser or rubbing alcohol to remove oils, dirt, or residue. This ensures that the press-ons will stick better.
  • After application: Keep your nails dry and avoid soaking them in water for extended periods. Excess moisture can cause the adhesive to weaken.

2. Avoid Harsh Chemicals

  • Protect from cleaning agents: Chemicals like bleach, cleaning products, and harsh detergents can weaken the adhesive or damage the nails. Always wear gloves when cleaning or using chemicals.
  • Be cautious with lotions and oils: Avoid applying lotions or oils directly to your nails as they can cause the press-ons to lift or lose their adhesion.

3. Handle with Care

  • Avoid pressure: Be gentle when using your hands. Try to avoid any heavy impact or pressure on the nails to prevent them from popping off.
  • No picking or pulling: Avoid using your press-on nails to pick or peel items. This will put unnecessary strain on the adhesive.

4. Check for Lifting Edges

  • Inspect frequently: Keep an eye on your nails, especially the edges. If you notice any lifting, carefully press the edge back down or apply a small amount of nail glue to reattach it.
  • Touch-up if necessary: Carry some nail glue with you for any quick fixes during the day.

5. Reapply Adhesive if Necessary

  • Over time, the adhesive may start to lose its strength. If you notice that your press-on nails aren’t sticking as securely, you can reapply a bit of nail glue underneath the edges to reinforce the hold.
  • Some press-on nails come with adhesive tabs that can be swapped out for longer-lasting results.

6. Avoid Extreme Heat or Cold

  • Temperature changes: Extreme temperatures can affect the adhesive. Avoid exposing your nails to heat sources like hot water or extreme cold, which can cause them to lift or weaken.

7. Remove Properly

  • When it's time to remove your press-on nails, do not yank or pull them off. This can damage your natural nails. Instead, soak your nails in warm, soapy water or use a nail polish remover with acetone to gently loosen the adhesive.
  • Use a gentle removal method: You can also apply a small amount of cuticle oil around the edges to help loosen the glue and make removal easier.

8. Store Your Press-Ons Carefully

  • When you’re not wearing your press-on nails, store them in their original packaging or a safe container to avoid damage or dust accumulation.
  • Keep them clean: If they have adhesive left on the back, gently remove any residue using a cotton pad and rubbing alcohol, then store them properly.

9. Touch Up Your Cuticles

  • To keep your nails looking fresh, remember to take care of your cuticles. Hydrated and healthy cuticles will enhance the overall look of your press-on nails.

10. Keep Your Natural Nails Healthy

  • Maintain natural nail health: Press-on nails should not be used as a permanent solution. Give your natural nails time to breathe and stay healthy between applications. If your nails start to weaken, take a break between press-on sets.
